The Hero’s Journey
Today we have Dr. Michael Pariser on the Authentic Man Podcast. Dr. Pariser is a practicing psychotherapist in Los Angeles, CA and also a personal friend of mine. I met Dr. Pariser at a Men’s Retreat with Dr. Robert Glover, who we had on the Authentic Man Podcast earlier this month.
Dr. Pariser is not only a psychotherapist, but also a recovering Nice Guy himself. In our podcast, we dig deep into the problems of Nice Guy Syndrome. How it infects and warps your understanding of how the world works, leaving you angry, bitter, and frustrated that you haven’t been given “what’s owed to you.”
The problem with Nice Guys isn’t that their nice, it’s that they expect the world to reward them without being asked. They expect people to just “know” what they want without every being told. In truth, the Nice Guy is the most dishonest person in the room as they are hiding who they really are under the Nice Guy Façade.
Dr. Pariser and I dig deep into Nice Guy Syndrome and how to REALLY work on becoming a Fully Integrated Male.
In Dr. Pariser’s new book, “No More Mr. Nice Guy – The Hero’s Journey” he provides you an in-depth workbook to help YOU understand what kind of a Nice Guy you are, and the road to recovery.

“We believe we have to hide who we really are, and Nice Guy-ness, is a large-scale, lifetime strategy for hiding who we really are and getting something of what we need to survive”
